155°Gruppo/50°Stormo AMI ECR Tornados detachment at Lechfeld

Post by GME-AirFoto »

The Italian Air Force SEAD unit 155°Gruppo/50°Stormo known as the “Pantere Nere” (“Black Panthers”) from Piacenza, deployed to Lechfeld Air Base for annual detachment „ITAF Polygone“ hosted by the main German SEAD squadron JaboG 32. The AMI arrived at Lechfeld with six Tornados (IDS: MM7036/50-55; MM7028/50-52; ECR: MM7019/50-05; MM7020/50-41; MM7054/50-40; MM7055/50-42), four ECR and two IDS at the 16.04.2012 to fly there for two weeks. The aim of the detachment was to train complex scenes in electronic warfare on the Polygon – Range that covers an area between France and Germany. The two week´s exercise saw two missions with four jets each a day, with morning waves usually staring around 10.30Uhr and afternoon departures took pace around 15.00Uhr with 75 minutes for each flight.
Some photos of a very rainy and cold day at Lechfeld.

Hope you like it, despite the bad weather.

Bit heavy on the signature, but respect for shooting in pooring rain and getting good results! You obviously know what you're doing. :thumb:
And of course, awesome 'burner on the monster. 8)

No, but it was more or less a miracle after 3 hours in the rain. :D
