The Italian Air Force SEAD unit 155°Gruppo/50°Stormo known as the “Pantere Nere” (“Black Panthers”) from Piacenza, deployed to Lechfeld Air Base for annual detachment „ITAF Polygone“ hosted by the main German SEAD squadron JaboG 32. The AMI arrived at Lechfeld with six Tornados (IDS: MM7036/50-55; MM7028/50-52; ECR: MM7019/50-05; MM7020/50-41; MM7054/50-40; MM7055/50-42), four ECR and two IDS at the 16.04.2012 to fly there for two weeks. The aim of the detachment was to train complex scenes in electronic warfare on the Polygon – Range that covers an area between France and Germany. The two week´s exercise saw two missions with four jets each a day, with morning waves usually staring around 10.30Uhr and afternoon departures took pace around 15.00Uhr with 75 minutes for each flight.
