REQ.: Type-ID Pratica di Mare 02-05-2012

Post by nhoogenboom »

Hi all,
During a base visit at Pratica di Mare we saw unknown type at the 8 Gruppo platform. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get any closer to the aircraft.
First hunch was a RAF Sentinel R1 but the windows of the aircraft on the photo is not corresponding with photos of the Sentinels.
On the foreground of the photo you see a BD.808. Next to it, you see one of the new KC's of the AMI. The unidentified aircraft is behind the tanker.
Does anyone has a suggestions what this type could be?
Thanks in advance!!!
Regards,
Rob. H, Mark, Mike en Niels

Hello,

The BD.808 is off course an PD.808...

The aircraft at the end of the row is a Gulfstream...

Looks a lot like Lockheed Martin Gulfstream III G-1159A N30LX.

Hi Niels,

This plane also came by at the newsgroup managed by Italian enthusiast 'Coronet'. I haven't got the serial at hand but the story is here:

Best regards,
