I heard some helos were due to arrive for refuel late afternoon, so went across with my camera for a look. 5 Longbow Apaches and 2 Merlins arrived. The Merlins departed after refuel, the Apaches stayed around until later in the evening. The weather was good, but the light went after a while due to a weather front arriving from the west and blocking the evening sun for the Merlin departures. Here are a few shots:

Nice! Are these taken from outside the fence?
By the way, why did they have to make those Apache serials so bloody small....

Hi Bas, yes, these were all shot through the fence from the side of bays 20 & 21 (old delta dispersal).

The Apache serials are really tiny, you definitely need optics to read them off at more than a few feet away!
