Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Constantly changing, that's me Koos.

From 2 PM on we did some garden spotting indeed. There was also a special corner for photographers at the Jubilee Garden, so a very relaxed place to be. :D

Hier een aantal static plaatjes. Zoals te zien op de plaatjes, was het net gestopt met regenen en zijn sommige foto's wat donker. Maar wilde ze jullie toch niet onthouden.

After 14 years of RIAT absence me and the Missus booked the two day trip with 4Aviation.
Not much had changed since; still cold, windy and rainy. A real British summer. We booked seats at the Public Grandstand for that slightly elevated view on things. It provided not only that but also added a lot of cold wind.
Waiting for some flying action from 08:00 till 10:45 sure feels like a long time under these circumstances.

One of the first flying items was the Belgian demo F-16 in its psychedelic paintscheme.
Image

Then it was Hunter time. This pair of colourfull oldies took off together.
Image

For some reason, the Italian Tonka jockey preferred a tailwind take-off. Oh well it suited me just fine.
Image

The RAF Chinook demo was just brilliant. I never witnessed such an aggresive way of flying a heavy chopper.
The heavy metal got thrown about like it was a toy. Awesome!!
Image

Good old Lancaster.
Image

For some reason the Frecce Tricolori appeals to me most when thinking of demo teams. I first saw them when
they were still flying the G91 but they never bore me.
Image

Frecce on departure Monday.
Image

One of the two role demo RAF Tornado's. One of the best take-off's of the day.
Image

The Saudi Hawks made it clear that it takes a lot of practise before you ''get it right''. Their demo was not bad
but they lack the constant action that you see with the Red's or Frecce. Their solo fly byes sometimes miss
the runway centerpoint as is seen here (Public Grandstand is at runway centerpoint).
Image

This one looks nice though.
Image

Red's solo pair joint at the wing.
Image

The A-10 on flying display. Haven't seen that one for years.
Image

This is what the display commentator called the ''dedication pass''.
Image

At last old faithfull Vulcan. I wonder how long that will last. Operating cost are enormous.
Image

Some brave girls freezing their faces off. And possibly some other body parts.
Image

One of the more exotic visitors on departure day.
Image

Goodbye Fairford. See you next year?
Groeten, Regards,
René
