Did visit Ireland last week, specially for the Euroleague final in Dublin. We also did spend some extra days in Ireland to visit some of the less frequently visited fields in the country.
First Connemara airfield. A small airstrip about 25km west of Galway. Only one operator, Aer Arann Islands, who flies with three Islanders to the three Aran Islands. (all flights are less then 10 minutes!)
Lucky for us, all three Islanders where seen during our 30minutes visit. Two flying and one on maintenance in the smal hangar.
EI-CUW
EI-BCE
Then on to Shannon. Nice airport, lot of maintenance hangars and companies. You have to be lucky to cath some nice planes on a fuelstop, on a delivery flight or after a paintjob. Also some planes on storage.
Also some passenger flights. Mainly Aer Lingus (A320/A330), Ryanair, Aer Arann and a few American companies. (Delta and Continited)
6Y-JMH (ex Air jamaica)
N331BV (ex Air Jamaica)
EC-HDN (ex Iberia)
N495MS (ex Air Midwest Nigeria) a long shot, so not too sharp
Then the flying ones:
Every day a lot of fuelstop flights from bizjets
the daily British Airways flight from London City to New York (stopping at SNN for fuel and US customs). The return flight is without the stop at SNN.
Also the Irish Coast guard is operating from SNN
And the to the two nicest visitors of the day:
HZ-102 737-800BBJ from Royal Saudi Airforce.
And on delivery after paint and maintenance at Shannon, this TJ-QCB from Camair from Cameroun. This 737 is wellknown here in the Netherlands because in 2010 this plane was the PH-OEJ from Transavia.
Then on to Cork. Where there was al lot of action going on because the visit from Queen Elizabeth.
This BAe146-200 was here ride. (taken behind glass)
and offcourse the Aer Lingus retro jet
