My educated (?) guess is we are looking at Gulfstream 4 OE-IZK here.
Beauty of a photo! :toppie:

Given the fact Tom is out today, i will try and answer this question.....Tom used manual setting here, diafragma aproximitly between F8 and F11 (correct me if i'm wrong Tom).....and an exposure time of about ten seconds if i am right. I found out by the way (but that probably is very personal), that i like night shots slightly overexposed. If taken overexposed, you can add a little more contrast, popping out the subject a little bit more. And of course allways squueze your diafragma to create nice stars in your light points....

I have taken about the same shot (though Tom's angle is better :grumble: ) but have done this in Aperture mode (diafragma mode), and let the camera it's self do the exposure time (and then of course you extend the exposure time by your -EV or + EV button). I had it at F11 byt the way. there's allso a posibilty to do this in shutter mode, but then you will have no controll over your diafragma, which i think is key when taking nightshots...

The biggest secret of his outstanding shot is the way he post processed it. Twisting your gammarays does create a lot of drama, especially in this picture, popping out the plane form the background even more. Can you imagine, this plane is not black at all, but grey antraciet. And the light you see in the picture was not yellow at all, more like orange color, but what the heck, the picture came out brilliant, and that's what it's all about!

Grt,
Michel

thank you.

I used AV mode at F11 ISO 100 and the shutter takes 20 sec the time to get this pic.
Shoot through the fence. at 400MM.
Hope to help you with this,

Tom

The picture is brilliant indeed. But you can remove the orange/yellow
haze over the photo by changing the white balance. This is only possible
with RAW images ;) Also the saturation per color channel can be used
to pimp the colors :)
