Nice to see they did not choose the fake glossy paint you come across so often in museums. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Eagles ever having just a single-tone grey finish...??? Where is the second tone of grey??? Or is it only very faintly applied?

Indeed. In this paint it looks a little like a plastic plane...

Hey guys,

i remember from a picture that 32TFS f-15 serial 81-046 had a singel tone gray color, maybe the painters based there repaint on that one.
I have a picture(not taken by me) of the 81-046 on my PC, but i have no idea how to put it up here

greets,
Randy Mulder

You can clearly see a two tone finish. It's factory new and no smudges or oil leaks, weather influence or what so ever. It's not wheathered. So the usual F-15 look will not appear for a while. Why start a discussion when 99.8 % of the USAF F-15's are two tone :-) (at least the EHSB based ones)
Good job, museum quality, so it can hold for another 25 years.

It's the most visible at the first photo near the rescue arrow.

They did a great job repainting it.

Love the marking on the rim.
Cheers, Michel
