Machynlleth Loop 8-12june09

Post by Triple Nickel »

Hallo,

A buddy and I were making plans for a trip to the "Mach Loop" in Wales around April 09. The fasted way to get there was a NRN-BHX flight with Ryanair. We booked
our flight by the end of April, for around 56 euros. Later, in mid -May we discovered the seats NRN-BHX were available for 16 euro's return trip...

But nevertheless. Our trip was a great succes!!!! Especially the Loop Area! I had never seen a Tornado low in the Loop, and on the first day we saw an F.3 go by fast and low!!
What a sight!

But our MachLoop-report on the website is now ready and can be seen at: http://www.sgniederrhein.eu/wales09

And here we go with some pics I took sometimes in a very cold and windy environment...:

On the first day, it was cold, windy and only 3 aircraft..... but one of them was the long awaited TORNADO!

Image

A hawk turn at towards Corris over the Tall-Y-Lynn lake. Unfortunelatey the sun is in you face in the afternoon.

Image

And the lowest Tornado we have seen! (we have seen more but all to high for a good pic)

Image

A nice aircraft against a very nice scenery. It is so gracefull to see a herc flying low and slow through the beautifull green welsch valleys.

Image

Hope you like them.

Wow the second Tonka is amazing. Well done!

very nice collection, Ron. That F3 is a great catch.
Now you will experience the need to go back to Wales every now and then

Yes. It's calles the ''loop virus'' and there are pills for it....

I was there before in 2003 and 2005,and then there was lack of time.... but now i feel to make time for such a trip on yearly bases...
