Wittmund Nights- F-4F special c/s by night 03062009

Post by zapata742 »

Hi gents,

In occasion with the 50 years anniversary of the Fighter Wing 71 "R" ( JG 71"R" ) , we traveled yesterday once again to Wittmund, as the wx forecast was more as good for the evening, we could see the newest special colored F-4 of the "Richthofen" Wing by night!
The "mighty Phantom" which will shown to the public for the first time tomorrow, when the JG 71"R" will celebrate there 50 years anniversary.
Also a spottersday will be held in June 5, 2009 - and this beauty is one of the stars on that weekend.....

So my decision was easy...driving down up to Wittmund in the evening and returning home afterwards, so we spent 6 hrs driving back and for and almost 650 km - but it was more as worth, and as result we could shoot this beauty on a unusual photo pit :onfire: :thumb:
Thanks must go to everyone involved, and of course my host unit the JG 71"R", and all the air and ground crews that worked hard to prepare the specially adorned mighty Phantom, and make this shooting to happen..... from the tow-truck driver, fire dept, technicians who were responsible for positing the F-4 as we like to have it and everyone did an extraordinary job on that day..... from illuminate the jet, technicians who were responsible for switching on all lights on the mighty Phantom, etc. and everyone did an extraordinary job!!!

Here you will find my personal highlights from that visit yesterday at Wittmund, and as this was the only day which was possible to shoot the 37+03 on too the Runway as the QRA is till at Jever, we were able to "shoot" this F-4 on the main runway, as u can see on my images.
All the hard work has paid off, and the results are these great images.
The only "slightly" problem was at thge end the wx, but we made th ebest out of it...to be continued!

Ok enough of my blabla, and the impressions will tell the rest of the story.

As always c & c are more as welcome, and thanks for watching. And for all of u guys which will travel to Wittmund, the guys in Wittmund find a nice spot for the special colored F-4....the same as I used: http://www.flugzeugbilder.de/show.php?id=841406 this was the planning from yesterday!

And I have permission to post these images!

Cheers,
Mick

Ok here we go...it´s time to start the photosession
