G'day Arnold,

Lots of great shots there. Thank you for sharing. :bthumb:

Could you describe how you got to your first point "near the checkpoint for runways 03"? Did you get there by car or did you walk some?

I was there in 07 so I am roughly familiar with the area and I will be spending another 3 days there in the first week of November.

I managed some approach shots from across the small gully at the end of 03 on my trip;

but I didn't know how to get closer from that end.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Cheers,
Motty.

Hi Motty,

This is the spot for runway 03:

You can park your car here:

Many thanks Stefan.

The second link (carpark) comes up as the entire United States though. Surely there's somewhere closer? :P

Cheers,
Motty.

There is a spot closer to that. Head straihgt to the right from the spot until you are 'above' the first blue building you encounter in GE.

That's fantastic, thank you very much.

Now I just have to hope that they will still be using the new runway when I get there.

Cheers,
Motty.

Hi Motty,

regardeless which runway will be in use, the taxiway pointed out in Arnold's reply will nevertheless be in use anyway. During the morning hours it's a great spot.
