some test shots with my 100-400mm plus convertor

Yesterday I went to Schiphol to test my Kenko 1.5x MC DG convertor on my Canon EF 100-400mm lens, with the following results:































All pictures are made with a EOS40D and ISO 500.

Nice pictures, they do seem a little dark.
Is that because of a wrong setting on your body? Or because of the TC you used?
What body do you have? (I'm thinking of buying a 100-400 myself (and perhaps a TC as well).

Well, the results surprised me. The AF is still working (fast) but I have to use the ONE SHOT option and not SERVO. With SERVO the lens is often seeking.
I have reduced the exposure with -0.7 otherwise it was overexposed. But that's normal with this converter I red in a test.

It's a good choice to buy the 100-400mm, I have this lens for almost nine years now and still satisfied with it.

not a picture is sharp there all slightly out of focus it seems

The 100-400 isn't that sharp at 400mm from itself. Which explains the unsharpness and the converter probably only made things worse.

Well, it is acceptable for me Ricardo. It doesn't always have to be razor sharp.

Yes why not? I only suggest to buy a battery grip for better grip because the 350D is smaller in size then for example a 30D.
With the 350D in combination with the 100-400m you need it. Especially when you have big hands, like me.
