Today I went to Gilze-Rijen AB to spot the AN-124. Around 12.30LT we heard that she was delayed until 17.00LT, so I went to the Slopes.

Q-29 doing some "hide and seek" :) :

I never crop (or shop) my photo's on Scramble. Not even this one; only with 60mm! The pilot pulled his Cougar to my side, and even without my cameralens I could see the big smile on the face of the loadmaster. Thx guys, you made my day :D

Unfortunately no Antonov for me. Had a great (and rainy) day though. I think I'll return this evening, if big mom is going home...

Regards,
Sven

Nice shots!
Wondered one thing on the shot above. What is the flat bit below the left rockets (on the tail/fuselage) Camera/light or something?

Radalt (radar altimeter), doppler radar for altitude measurement.

Thanx 2 all of you for your comments.

And some from my side (again). Took the pics this evening. Made some shots of her departure too, but they aren't worth posting...

:agree:

It is sharp, Apache as subject though not totally visible which gives it a kinda exciting "pose".
Like the lights aswell!
http://WWW.FVPHOTO.NL/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; --- Check out my photos of this spotting season on my website!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

@ Jimmy (again) & @ Sven: Nice shots! Anybody any idea of what the An-124 had to pick up/deliver?

Nice shots.

@bramos: the An124 came to pick up two Apache helicopters. Next week the AN124 will come back to bring two other Apache helicopters back (as read in this topic by Eric van Lisdonk (page 2).

Hi all (yes, it's me again  ),

Yesterday, while I was waiting for the Antonov, I took some shots of this AH-64D. Unfortunately I deleted some of them :(

However, today (with some help of my dad) I could recover them with a program called PC Inspector. Hope you like them.
