on Thursday I was able to capture the visit of the "beast", as I call the Antonov AN-22 Antei from Design Bureau Antonov @ Frankfurt-Hahn Airport ( EDFH ).
The AN-22 ( UR-09307 , cn 043481244 ) came direct from GML for ADB3580 flight, and this flight was delayed due to heavy snow in Gostomel Airport ( GML / UKKM) aka Antonov Airport, Kiev Airport.
Luckily I was able to get access to the flightline, after gettin the clearance of the Press Service at ANTONOV AIRLINES, and also from the media section of Frankfurt/Hahn Airport for escorting me on the flightline during the arrival of the An-22.
The reason that the An-22 came to Hahn was the transport of transformer which was not suitable into a Il-76 due to the weight of the transformer, so they choosed the An-22
for the transport.
On our way to Hahn Airport we never thought that the weather will be gettin better, as the whole way down to Hahn it was heavy fog and no sun at all.
And luckily at 1300 local the weather conditions gettin better, still facing freezing temperatures ( -12°C or more.... ) the sun came out and we arrived under a really blue sky at Hahn airport.
So around 1500 local the "beast" finally arrived @ Hahn Airport and it was still amazing to see the "big boy" taxiing behind a small follow me VW van, and listen to the 4 powerfull Kusnezow NK-12MA Turboprop Engines.... what a great sound.
