Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Iwan Bogels wrote:Hi Django,

Amazing shots ! You are in a fortunate position, and you make good use of it. Well done.

Don't worry about the comments regarding the serial numbers. Does it matter which number they painted on the aircraft ? Not at all ! This is a photo forum, and not a serial forum.

Everyone could easily think of the reason why you removed the serials. But....... (right now I'm not I a position to check your photos (I'm at work), so I can't tell)........ did you remove the image data from the photos ? If not, it's extremely simple to find out which aircraft were involved. Your camera will reveal the exact date and time, and we all know where these images were taken. So 1+1=2 for those who are serious about finding out.

Just a question to those who are after the numbers: Why do you want to know ??? In my opinion these are "just Dutch F-16's", and they are no longer "there", so you can't go out and get them anymore. Please explain !

Best regards,
Iwan Bögels
Also bear in mind aircraft can be recognized without numbers. J-011 is one of them also I'am quite positive I recognize J-057

Not that i'm after the numebrs but my eye felt on it.
Just the same if you see a picture of a boeing from the KLM with a totaly white tail for example. Just curious not more or less.
But no comment on the pics they are very nice indeed.

The registrations itself don't matter to me. What does bother me is that pictures are edited without telling so. It raises questions (see my previous post) and seems to fuel a discussion that could have been avoided easily.

To answer your question: we don't want to know. We just notice something isn't right with the photos. Like the white tails of KLM aircraft mentioned above. We don't see them at Schiphol but we do on the eight o'clock news.

I am sorry to go of-subject here, but what comments are you talking about Iwan? Wolf32 and I just wanted to know why Cornfielddjango went into the trouble of deleting the numbers this time. Curiosity, that's it and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's a forum, so there should be room for asking questions without being (almost) flamed.

And besides that, I think that everybody can judge for himself if a number in a picture is important or not. This might be a photo-forum, it's still a sub-forum of a spotter's messageboard. I think a majority of the people here still care about numbers....

The number is just part of our hobby (spotting), don't bite our head of for asking why somebody deletes the numbers.
Didn't know some people are this sensative.
Sorry, will never ask a question again. :grrr:

And it gets even stranger after you check the pictures he posted on august 13 from the range.
In that topic every single serialnumber is visible.
From the Dutch, French, Belgian and US airforce.
I would love to see a reply from Django himself here.
Or is he just enjoying all the attention his post gets this way?

He proberly wont delete his stunning shots just for fun  .
Wich i could understand, looks like the pictures are not important anymore only the removed numbers are aperently. There is a reason for everything, including removing a serial no. from a f-16.

Discussion Cornfield pictures

Post by visser »

Hi to all and the webmaster,

I think it will be very wise to stop and remove the discussion about the stunning pictures made bij Django. I personally know there are reasons to be carefull with publishing pictures like these.
Only enjoy the pictures!

Django placed very nice pictures on the board here, offcourse..

But what i don't understand is that he removes the serials of the planes, ok, probably he had a gooed reason for it, his pics are also great without the serials, but if there comes a discussion like this, why does he not give us an answer.. people are asking friendly why he did this, a whole discussion is coming up, but he refusing to give the answer...

Strange if you ask me...

And if you say its risky to place pictures like this on the internet, that doesn't make any sense to me!! it is a low flying area, so there will be no pilot who will get trouble's overthere..

Again, Django, i love your pictures, the tower of cornfield is also on my list for this year...

Its Not a low flying area!!!!!!!!! the Aircrafts are not allowed to fly lower than 250feet. You can see that the aircrafts are lower than 250feet so for no problems to the pilots. I removed the serials
