These are a few shots of departures day at Fairford.
More are to follow, hopefully also from many friends and acquaintances we met there.

A very big ”thank you” to all RIAT volunteers at the Park & View. Despite the show being cancelled they were friendly and cooperative as usual. They even encouraged us during the traditional run for the best spot when the gates opened at 7.

Very nice shots Paul. Sharp and the right lighting.
What lenses do you use these days; I know you had problems with the EF 100-400mm.

Thanks for the compliment Martin!

I use:
70-200 2.8 IS USM (my all-time favorite)
300 4.0 IS (nice, but less quick in focussing and sharpness)
24-70 2.8 (nice, but in my opinion not supersharp)
10-22 EF-S 3.5-4.5 for special effects

The 100-400 was a drama indeed. I also tried 1,4 and 2,0 convertors but these did not make me happy as well.

I have heard that the Sigma 50-500 is a good lens as long as you stay under 400mm. Would love to try this one once.

Gretz,
Paul
