Some dynamic shots in this topic, funny how people translate things to their own way of thinking.
My first reaction is to translate this topic to interesting aircraft taken under lousy conditions.
(I have a whole Moscow trip that falls in this category)

This one however I always think of as ironic:

It can be rewarding to stick around though because you never know what happens next,
that same day at Ft Lauderdale we had very dark clouds and then the sun came out for 10 minutes:

Some great shots turn up here! Superb!
I do like to shoot in bad weather conditions, as it gives the photo something special and makes it different. I really like the way lights and afterburners are emphasized in those conditions.
Here some of mine bad weather experiences during the last years. Some have probably already posted elsewhere on this forum by myself, however: here we go!

#1 - 2005: While on holidays in the North of Sweden spotting was done during four days at Luleå-Kallax to catch those last Viggens flying. The last day however was a choice of leaving or staying: weatherforecasts were good, so why not stay another day... ... the day turned out to be only rain iso sun!

#5 - 2006: During the arrivals of the Open Days at Leeuwarden on Thursdays the weather wasn't particularly good as well...
Image

#6 -2008: The day I went to see the Redskin Challenge exercise at Gilze was of course the worst; lost of rain, heavy rain. But that didn't make us retreat on the contrary great shots were made.
Image

#7 - 2008: This day at Skavsta started of okej, fog was there already but as it proceeded more and more dark clouds were coming in and eventually also rain...
Image

#8 - 2008: While sitting out in nice winterweather at Linköping-Malmen, snow was approaching and it exactly started to snow a lot when these two came in for landing.

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Thanks guys for all your replies! Some wonderful pictures in this post and it clearly shows that the worst of the weather can sometimes bring out the best in photography.
Keep them coming, I'm sure we all would like to see more.

@Guinness: I actually like it, looks like an old photograph to me: well done.

I found some more bad weather shots of the arrivals at Geilenkirchen NATOs Open House last year. At a certain moment I was taking pictures from under my umbrella, sitting on my chair while facing the approach for these shots:

And this one was just before that rain started to pour down

It creates lovely vortexes though...
