Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

nustyR: I've said it before on a different forum, but I'll repeat it here as I feel it is still relevant. I've been watching your photo's the last few days and I must say that I'm not impressed. That has nothing to do with the motives (although a few of them are not my cup of tea) as they are generally very good. It does have to do with the quality of the shots.

If I remember correctly you recently bought a Canon 500mm F/4. While a wicked lens it does have it's drawbacks. Due to the large focal range you are automatically tempted to start shooting over large distances. Due to this the atmospheric conditions are highly exaggerated. This is very well visible in your latest shots. The weather has been pretty good lately with rising temperatures. That does have it's drawbacks, as you are experiencing right now. A lens like yours doesn't really shine until the temperature drops (and not by a few degrees) and it is crystal clear out.

Obviously it is your call what you want with your shots but I personally think it's a shame you are not using the lens to it's full potential. And looking at your shots there is a lot of potential but they would get a lot (and I really mean a lot) better when they are good quality.

Just to be clear, I'm not attacking you personally here but I'm trying to get you to a higher level as all of us benefit from that.

Jurgen

P.S. For guess the airline, I think it's Malaysia Airlines' 747-4H6 9M-MPM
