Armed Su-22s flying at Swidwin

Post by bunt »

Even though we were informed that there should be no flying activities of Polish Airforce during this day, we were positively surprised by two Su-22s armed with RS-2/ R-55 type air-to-air missiles. (only the white 'war-head' is unknown to me, not an U- or US-type). Nevertheless, a great opportunity to photograph the Su-22s!

My thanks goes once more out to our Polish hosts who made this successful visit possible.

Type of missile...

Post by bunt »

These missiles are the targets for the Slovak 2K12 Kub (SA-6) air defence system positioned at the Ustka range. This exercise is called Strela 2.
