Hatzerim 09-05-08

Post by Marco »

The open day of the Hatzerim AB took place at the Israeli AF museum in Hatzerim.

During the open day the following planes were put in the museum.

One note to some annoying people. Do not threaten people as your first words. Just kindly ask to step aside first. For those we were not there, I was upstairs when the other bus arrived at the museum. Some Dutch people waved at me to request me to step aside, which I obviously did. However there were some members in that group whose first communication were: Eitherway, you move or we stay. We will stay here for another 1.5hr. Bad luck for them was that we were staying 2.5hr still. So I had all the time of the world to wait and annoy them. Just kindly asked first and I would have stepped aside.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for sharing the pictures, really nice. :D I've been to the museum several times and it's always nice. They even change aircraft sometimes. (Like the E-2C for example, they changes them before 3 out of 4 were sold to mexico)
Was the base flying? I saw many F-15I's, (T)A-4's and Tzukits fly there in 1994, 1996 and 1998. In 1998 several Skyhawks had a really big star applied, specially for 50 years of state. Now it's was Israels 60th birthday and I had expercted some new special markings. haven't seen any though.

the have kill mark is because the F-16 hit an enemy, but it remains doubtfull if it made the killing hit or just a damaging hit.

The group of Isreal Aviation spend 2 days in the Hatzerim approach (if I did understand correctly). They had a lot of flying A-4's, F-15's and F-16's. We only went to the museum as we were going to a base visit at Ramon AB on Sunday. On Friday they only saw about 6 fighters in the air.
