Ramstein 30-03-2008

Post by Wim »

Hello,

In the beginning of April we made a spotting trip of one week to Switzerland. On the first day we first stopped for a half an hour at Luxemburg to lunch. There we only saw one B737 of Luxair landing. Then we continued to Ramstein and we saw a lot of things in the 3 hours we spend in the approach of Ramstein( 3x C-17, 2x C-130, C-5, KC-135, 2x E-3B en een B747). The weather was very nice with temperatures of 22°C:

After Ramstein we continued our trip to the Technic museum of Speyer. Because it was already late in the afternoon, we were too late to enter the museum, but some aircraft could be photographed from outside.

Then we drove to Baden-Söllingen, a former Royal Canadian Air Force base. Now its a civilian airport but in the nearby town there is still a CF-104 on a pole. Unfortunatly the starfighter isn't luminated during the night. But you have to be ingenious and use the lights of the car

Hi Wim,

great shots! I was at Ramstein on the thursday before you were there. Flying wasn't bad (no E-3's yet though) but the weather was dull, very overcast and temp was about 6 degrees....
