Skrydstrup basevisit 22-8-2014 (MIL)

Post by mirage 69 »

Last Friday (22-8) I visited Skrydstrup on a basevisit arranged by spotters society Panoravia.
Before and after the visit I had some other targets...

Christoph 42 Rendsburg
Image

Hohn, there were 6 C-160's at the tarmac

After arriving at Skrydstrup it started to rain.....again (last visit was two years ago also in the rain)
We first went to the runway to take pictures from the take off.

Image

Then we visited 730 ESK

Image

Image

Then a walk through the shelter area

By the time the first F-16's came back we were at the beginning off the shelterarea so on the right spot to take some pictures

Nice badge....Mig-29 Fulcrum...

Just after the last F-16 arrived back at the squadron we went to the SAR Hangar.
Outside was an other Merlin (whitout SAR titels)
Image
We were lucky that they opened the SAR hangar so we could take pictures from inside were it was dry
Image

Now it was time to get some food but first we visited the base flight were besides two F-16's a couple T-17's were present.

After the lunch we get the opportunity to take pics from the gateguard

The last item was a visit to hangar 6, that is in fact outside the field. In this hangar old employees are working on some older machines to get them ready for a museum or something like that.

I like to thank Brian Juncker Jensen and the Danish airforce for the hospitality. Despite the weather it was a fantastic basevisit!

After Skrydstrup I went to Tonder
Image
Yes it was still raining...
Image

Next target was Christoph E5 in Niebüll, but unfortunatly it just scrambled and fly away when i arrived.
Then on to Husum

Image

Then back to Hamburg. Target was Christoph 29 and Christoph Hansa but hugh traffic jams arround Hamburg decided me to go back home.
One stop at the hospital in Bremen were I could catch Christoph 6 at the hospital and a C-160 at the airfield.

bad picture, bad quality but nice to see a Trallala at Bremen. (I expected a resque helicopter...)

Nice report. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately that the weather was so bad! But I think you enjoyed it anyway.

Could you remove the picture from the F16 and the coordinates plate behind it.
Two years ago I had also an base visit at Skrydstrup en they ask us don't make pictures from the coordinate signs.

Didn't we have Google Earth back then? Finding pretty exact LAT/LONGS nowadays is a walk in the park....

Of course it is easy to find but I went there in 2011 too and back then they were also really concerned about pictures showing the coordinate signs. I think it would be better to remove those, just to prevent any trouble.
Maybe they changed their policy but just in case they forgot to mention or the photographer didn't get the message during the visit, in my opinion it would be better to avoid any trouble. So far they have always been very friendly and it would be nice to keep it like that.

Sorry guys,

last week my picture was the start of a long discussion about P4 (I finally removed the picture)
This week probably some trouble about coordinates...
The Danish AF told us that there were almost no restrictions. Only a new weapon system under the left wing was prohibited to take pictures off.

So nothing will be removed!
