Civil security with a demo of Dragon 67.
The Gendarmerie. Customs.

It would be the first time I would be going to this airshow. Can somebody tell me what the photo opportunities are?

I am under the impression that the show is held on the north side of the airfield, so you are facing the sun all day. Am I correct?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks!

You are correct. Generally, the static is in the north-east corner of the field and the flying takes place over or near the runway. Pleasure flights take place from just outside the airfield boundary on the north side. However, as most action is performed by helo's, there's a lot of turning helo's in front of you (more than with jets) so "sunny" shots are definitely possible.

The below is my log from two partial days. It was an interesting airshow, though with limited flying, some good shots could be made. Especially late Saturday afternoon and evening displays and from the static when the crowd went home and I was left alone for some static shots in the late evening sun. 8)

Preserved on base:
(2156?)/PHG SA.318C 1 RHC, preserved at main gate
(1180/BDJ) SA.341F preserved near show entrance
The Gazelle was read of from a plate inside the cockpit.

I also talked to some NH90 crewmembers who confirmed me they now have 4 NH90's within the 1 RHC. By the end of this year that number should be 7. In the end they should receive no less then 24 NH-90's, all replacing the SA330. Likely that number will be reached after Etain closes in the near future and 3 RHC will be disbanded.

I hope this helps and someone can fill in the gaps (real ID for the Alouette 3 and the SA.341F behind the tower)!

Hi,

we were there on Saturday. The 2 SA.330 on the farside dispersals where the DCS and the DBH ( both on photo ).

Then Hangar 3 , we read the GEO as GEQ.

Farside grass, we read it as GNI.

Greetings Arie.

NH-90TTH 1273 was the example in static.
Drink treble
See double
Act single

Thanks Arie. The Puma's are correct (both were in the grass though). Any idea for the one in the dispersal area?

The Gazelle in H3 was definately GEO. Checked with bino's.
