Anyone knows when rehearsals will take place? I assume the day ahead. Anyone with experience of spotting at chakalovski? In particular taking pictures from outside the base?

Good question!! That's exactly what I am thinking about these days...
Somewhere I've seen a pic with a tribune in the south of the runway during the MAKS (I think for the press?), perhaps something like this could be organized?! (Okay, that's nothing for the fly-bys)

Further, I think about taking pics of the arriving planes on Friday...
Would I be the only one / bad idea concerning authorities?! I haven't any experiences with airshows in russia ;-)

Thanks in advance,

Felix

hi ! Yes, there's a tribune in the tower side during Maks , and it is for press use. This is the only place to take good shots of flying activity from inside Zhuk. It is not a big place, and a bit expensive. From the public side it's very hard to do something decent. For sure photographers not going in the tribune would be disappointed.
But this is valid for Maks organization. That is different from this year event.
Just behind the tower, away from the fence, there is people taking pictures in the air. No way to take pics in the runway. Its a good place if u have a lot of millimeters..... And if police allows to stay there as during Maks.
Same for arrivals. There are good places in the south side of Zhuk and usually people takes good pics, but arrivals may be several days before the event.
All depends on police disposal. Usually is ok.

I'm worried about all these flypasts... Maybe they fly 'on the moon' so good pics became impossible...
Don't know about other bases. But Kubinka etc are pretty close to Zhuk, I guess every unit will be flying from its home base...

Ok, thanks

Item 12: this should be 3x An-2 rather than 3x An-12 (+ An-12, An-26... etc..) but you noticed it already! :-)

BUMP. Morning all!

It's been a couple of months now since the flying programme for this event was published. I was just wondering with it being so quiet about this show lately, is there any more news about the event?

Thanks

according to the translated page, I believe there's only a static display at StPetersburg and Voronez.

Another news item shows that more preparations are underway for the show at Zhukovsky.

These flights are with 5 Su-27SM3, eight MiG-29SMT and 8 Su-25SM, and will fly from Chaklovskya for the show

Why would they open an airbase if there is no static?
