NEWS: Following the disappointing news that the USAF B-52 will be unable to participate in the RAF Waddington Airshow in the week preceding RIAT, there was speculation that the aircraft might also not be appearing at the Air Tattoo. We are pleased to report that the aircraft will be on static display at display at the Air Tattoo.

NEWS: At this late stage we are still expecting to confirm at least one 'very special' aircraft, which should be announced shortly.

Rob,

Thank you for your quick feedback  .

Can you please advice me about the best place to be for taking pictures of departure shots. I have a 400 mm prime and like the shot when the birds are just airborne. For sunday I have a ticket on Pimm's flight deck and the grandstand. Reading your blog on your website the grandstand is not the best place to be. Any idea about Pimm's flight deck? It is more to the east side of the runway. Looking at the Showground map 2012 it looks to me as if it might be to far east to take departure shots on the fighters.

During departures, your choices are actually limited to off-base, FRIAT and both Park&Views. The grandstand, Pimms, Jubilee Garden etc. only operate during the weekend.
