These were probably the two RF-4E's that came overhead Çigli for a photo run.

Hi Rob, when did these two RF-4's came overhead Cigli on saturday? I was there from 8.30 onwards, did we miss 'm ? :(

Mike, the flightpast took roughly place between 10.30 and 11.00. Three F-4's took place in the flypast but only one had markings of Eskisehir based 111 Filo, the other two carried the markings of Konya based 132 Filo. No clue from where they took off however.

Can anyone confirm that the T-34A is wearing the correct serial? As the 24218 should be preserved in the Etimesgut Museum.

Hi Rob,

I had a short chat with the pilot of the T-34. He confirmed that the serial was correct and that the aircraft was still military, and not carrying any civil marks. It flies as a sort of historic flight to the air force and indeed it was taken from a museum and made airworthy again. I only forgot to ask from which museum... :oops:

Thanks for your log, some small comments:

KC-135R 62-3563 = flightpast and 60-0326 = static
T-41D 72-1472 in the flightpast = 72-1473

I also noted C-160R R218/64-GR

so no one seems to know the serials of the Thunderbirds F-16s? strange...

Why is that strange? Serials are not presented on the outside. So you need to be able to open a small hatch to read it. How many people could get that close?

The Turkish Army AH-1P carried serial "13065" on the tail; on the datablock however was the FMS-serial: 76-22585:

This is a complete log for the airshowday on saterday. Only operational aircraft are included.

But the T-38 in the Turkish inventory static the 38231/2-231 was an T-38M one of the first of 50
which get by TAI an avionic and cockpit displays up-date

The c/n plate in the aft cockpit says this is an AH-1S with c/n 24019. I think the version AH-1S is more correct !

I think also 38173 (the red/white one) is a T-38M.
The C-130E 63-3188 was the first C-130E ERCIYES prototype (also with glass cockpit). It still has
an orange test probe behind the tail.

Strange story about the T-38M, as the first updated T-38 must be 38173, wich was also at the static , but delivered in a grey/black colorscheme.

But I think the antenna on the fuselage of the 38321, is one of the updates. So it than is a T-38M, and the 38173 does not have that antenna.

You might be right, but then hey, I didn't paint the Cobra :roll:

Furthermore: Mach III US Air Forces Directory 2010/11 says 76-22585 is an AH-1S with c/n 22019; Scramble database says it (76-22585) is an AH-1P with c/n 22019 :? And apparently 24019 is not a c/n used by any ex-US Cobra... but 22019 is! So, what can we all agree on ? Or shall we just stick to 13065 ?

The only upgraded T-38M was the 38321 at the static as indicated by the two new antenna's (top fuselage and behind nosegear), installation of a HUD and the new ejection seats. At Cigli it was also very easy to know because the sign in front of this airplane was from TAI who upgrades these aircraft. The red/white 38173 is in my opinion just a one-off special scheme and before that used as demonstrator for the upgrade program.
