Linköping-Malmen, Airshow 13th June 2010

Post by Flygvapnet_Viggen »

hej all,

As most of you know the main airshow of the Swedish Defence Forces will be on Sunday the 13th of June this year.
It will at the base, Linköping-Malmen just south-west of Linköping City.

There is a general list of the know participants available .
Taken from http://www.forsvarsmakten.se/sv/Aktuell ... udflygdag/:
# Hkp 15 (A 109E)
# Hkp 4 (BV107 Vertol)
# Hkp 5 (Hughes 269/ Schweizer Model 300 )
# Hkp 6 (Bell 206)
# Hkp 9 (Bo 105) static
# Hkp 10A/B/D (AS332 SuperPuma)
# Hkp 14 (NH90)
# B 17
# Sk 16 Harvard
# Sk 50 SAAB Safir
# Sk 61 Bulldog
# SK 37E Viggen
# J 28 Vampire
# J 29 Tunnan
# J 32 Lansen
# J 35 Draken
# JAS 39 Gripen
# C-130
# C-17
# Bleriot
# Tummelisa
# Spitfire MK 19
# P 51 Mustang
# Piper Cub
# DC-3
These are however only mention as static (according to the website). But I assume most of them will also be flying as usual.

Interesting is the listing of the C17 and the SK37E and J35 Draken! Would be great to see the Viggen and Draken from the Swedish Af Historical Flight returning to the stage.
It is 100 years Swedish Air Force, so the idea has been to get as many of the previous types in use to the airshow!

The day before, Saturday 12th of June, there will be the grand opening of the new Flygvapen Museum, located at/besides the base. This may also include a few aircraft movements.

Greets,
Corné Uittenbogaard

Probably not as much as could be seen in the south of France this weekend, but the highlights here were enough reason to go (3x Hkp-4, Tp-86, S-102). The newly opened Air Force museum could also be visited freely during the day. The new hall provides a lot more space to display the modern planes, but most of the displays that used to be outside have gone. Some were found at the show (see above), but I doubt any of them will come back to the museum.

It was a dual 100%. So not 197. It was the Dual with the Griffon on the tail.

Erwin I agree, maybe not much quantity but a lot of quality
The museum is nice although a lot of aircraft are gone The cold war display and the display of the Tp.79 wreck is impressive.

Thanks for the 4-ship. The solo that I missed was indeed a dual. The only one I could find with a special tail is the 39802, could it be this one? I didn't see it well enough to say yes or no.
Canberra TT.18 wrote:Did you read the serials, as I couldn't find anything on the outside. On the 15037 only 37 on the inside.
No I did not read them myself. None had any serials applied, outside or inside.
Canberra TT.18 wrote:Tp.100 100009/009 Arrived later was on place of 002 at end of show.
We were gone by that time I guess, didn't see it.
Canberra TT.18 wrote:9 of these were flying, should check photo's for numbers.
Same here, we did see them getting towed to the flightline (which also gave us the last missing one from the hangar), but didn't see them flying.
Canberra TT.18 wrote:Missed this one
It was only visible from the eastside carpark. From the static side the hangar looked empty, but one second before we got into our car, we saw the helicopter through the open door. The code was read from the nose.
By the way, according to a PR lady the Hkp-4s still belong to the military and they are awaiting a decision on their fate. But she also said they would not be flying again!

I will update the airshow list with your other updates. Thanks to both of you!

Hi,
One more aircraft I forgot.
preserved Hkp.3
03302/142 (the 1 was much smaller than the standard 42)
Helicopter was in front of Army HQ building between museum en static. From the museum a little bit to the right, behind the tenniscourt.

The flying SK.60's are:
122/127/141
110/116/93
54/59/50

Gents,
Great log with few comments.

The Hkp14s are all serialled 1410xx, not 140xx. This to avoid a clash with the serial range of the Sk14s.
Unit is 2.Hkpskv which is part of Hkpflj
As with the Hkp15s, the serial is not carried outside on the fuselage.

Further, the dual Gripen with the Griffin on the tail is the JAS39NG, serial 39-7

The Saab 37 marked as 37-51 is serial 37-1, coded 51, a (former) inmate of the museum.

Very nice to see Sk60C 60031, as this aircraft had its tailsection removed and attached to 60052. The latter is now on the Halmstad dump (tailcode 31). So they must have found a "new" tailsection for 60031. I had this aircraft l/n jul04 as stored at Ljungbyhed.

Correction,
Delete the dual GripenNG, this could indeed haven been 39802 as suggested.

I noticed in this topic, that the dual was surely NOT the 39802. A picture of the same aircraft is shown on this forum (scroll all the way to the bottom) and that one is said to be the 39-7 as Hans mentioned. I think that is the one....

Edit: Now confirmed!
