Beste mensen,

Wij zijn voornemens om een Airshow te organiseren in EDE! ter nagedachtenis van Jan Hilgers die als eerste Nederlanders boven NL grondgebied heeft gevlogen boven EDE.
De naam is "Jan Hilgers Memorial Airshow" te EDE.
Datum is 21 Augustus 2010, Rehearsel op vrijdag de 20ste augustus 2010.
De Gemeente, VVV en Klu werken inmiddels mee en als de vergunningen rond zijn willen we 100 NL luchtvaart in beeld gaan brengen...

In short, In memory of the first flight (from Dutch soil?) of a real Flying Dutchman on 26 July 2010 the Jan Hilgers Memorial Airshow will be organised on 21 August 2010 around the town of Ede.

If we should believe the agenda of one of the scheduled participants, the date should be changed to september 17 and 18. (http://www.dutchthunderyaks.nl)

I guess th 17th is for practicing.

(Maybe the 17th is also used to check how people on the A12 highway will react on a display over ther heads....)

It's re-scheduled to September 18th to make the combination with the annual airborne memorial and to have the possibility to gain from Sanicole, as they organise their airshow at the 19th.

Of course a great combination with the airborne memorial :cheers: , but also Sanicole?
Is the organisation working on that? In the local paper here in Ede it was not mentioned. The main reason was (in a few words) that they would coorporate with the facillities used for/with the airborne memorial. And a few traffic reasons on 20 august would not be helpfull as well.

But anyway, Sanicole Airshow has also a nice line-up. A Vulcan overhead the Ginkelse Heide would be nice.

As written above: The 'Jan Hilgers Airshow' will be held at saturday 18th september in the afternoon. That same morning of the 18th is the Market Garden memorial. It will be a whole day busy in the air over the Ginkelse Hei!!
