REQ: Info D-Day memorial - 6 June 2009 is 65th anniversary

Post by Wijgert IJlst »

On the 6th of June it's 65 years ago that operation overlord (D-Day) was undertaken. To mark and remember this event there will be a D-Day memorial event planned on (and around) 6th June 2009.
POTUS (Barack Obama) is expected to visit this event, this on invitation of Sarkozy. It is however expected that the British will not take part in this memorial event.

Does any one know if there are any aviation/aircraft related events planned around Normany for the D-Day memorial?
Kind Regards / Groeten,

There will be some paradrops on Sunday from USAFE C-130's at Ste Maire Eglise.
