LOG/request Yuma Airshow 2009

Post by Sjoerd »

Hi all,

I'm still in the process of getting things sorted after a 3 week USA West Coast tour in March before posting a full LOG. One of these things is the MCAS Yuma Airshow on which we saw several Harriers but were not get their BuNo's (codes only). Most of them were in the closed off hangars, but we managed gain acces to some. I do know some got in all hangars (although with some trouble).

Hangars (north to south)

Maintenance hangar east of the VMFT-401 hangar (noted on Friday)
/xx-23? AV-8B+ (fuselage)

VMA-311 hangar (noted on saturday)
165587/WL-07
165589/WL-04
164117/WL-31

VMA-214 hangar (noted on saturday)
165308/WE-03
/WE-07

VMA-214 hangar (noted on saturday)
163868/WE-21
/WE-05
/WE-22
+1

VMA-214 hangar (noted on saturday)
164128/WL-04? Code probably misspoken into my voicerecorder as it was also seen in VMA-311 hangar!
165421/WE-01
165574/WE-06
/WE-20
/WE-04
/WE-22
+1

VMA-513 hangar (noted on saturday)
/WF-02
165579/WF-08

The above hangar was a bit more secured and only a few could be seen through a window. However this hangar was really packed, so probably another 6-7 could be seen if entered.

KC-130 Fly-by + 2x Harrier (AV-8's operating out of Phoenix/Mesa-Gateway)
165006/WF-00 (spec. tail)
/WF-xx

MTIA for anyone able to help out with the missing serials!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your help! And no worries, just shoot me a pm and I'll drop you a line with the requested! I've got LOGS written in my notebook up to DM (AMARG and the arrival ramps got a bit too much for me  ). So I can help you with Edwards, Nellis, Barstow, Marana and Tucson so far! Others I'll have to check from my photos.

Cheers,
