Taken from MSF, some info on the museum at Szolnok:
I just talk to capt. Lente, and he decided to do an extraordinary open day for 18th Monday, 9:00 - 15:00. We would be grateful if You publish this fact in the widest cisrcle of interestors. The gate of the Museum will be opened for everybody that day !
For those interested!
I'm very interested. But the 'extraordinary' means the museum will just be open on Monday or does it mean extended access (technical school, storage). I ask this because i'll need to replan my route if this is more then just the museum being open.
,

Normally the museum is closed on mondays.

There's a special train back and forth from Budapest. The timetable for it you can find herehttp://www.mav-start.hu/hirek/hir.php?m ... 1371193032. "Érk." means "arrival", "ind." means "departure". You can also opt for regular IC trains (for these you may search the timetable here: http://elvira.mav-start.hu/elvira.dll/x ... language=2) Please note that for one part of the IC train you have to buy seat reservation in advance, for the other part (not marked with "R" sign) no reservation is needed.

Last year there was a special shuttle bus service between the train station and the airbase. It took ca. 15-20 minutes to get there. It cost ca. 250 HUF (equivalent to ca. 1€).

good news for those who have not ordered their tribune ticket (among me as I still doubt if I want to go on it. This is the answer I got from Hungary.

We will be selling tribune tickets on site. You have to buy general admission ticket (4.000,- HUF) at any of the entrances od the airfield. With that ticket you can find us at the airport. We will be selling the tribune tickets just next to the tribune. Its price will be 16.000,- HUF there, as you must have purchased the general admission by the time you reach us. (In advance sale the general admission price is included in the 20.000 HUF price).

About the weather, it is improving. Temp 20 degrees, no rain, wind of 20km/u from west to east, so this makes me evenmore doubt about entering the tribune. Source http://www.weather-forecast.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I am using this one to see the weather on location, so far everytime it got it right.

Tomcat_hun or someone who speaks hungarian, could you translate this?
I understand, that this text is about camping near airbase.

"Sátorozási lehetőség a kecskeméti repülőnapon

A NOMÁDTÁBOR augusztus 15.én péntek 15 órától várja a látogatókat.

Hi,

this is about camping. They experienced that during previous airshows many people camped in the area of the AFB. The organizers provided the conditions for the visitors arriving with tent, that they can spend the night in organized circustances (water, electricity, mobile toilet). This will be in one of the parking lots, 400 meters from the gate no.2. The camp waits the guests from 3pm on August 15, Friday. Reservation on the provided email and cell phone.
