IDEX 2017 in Abu Dhabi 19-23 Feb 2017

At the IDEX site this afternoon were 3 helis on display and easily visible from the main road that runs past the site (Al Khaleej Al Arabi St/30th St):

2635 UH60 UAE Army
362 AW139 UAE CG
191 SA565 UAE Navy

Plus there were some active military aircraft that overflew the site earlier today (although I didn't see them sadly - credit a local spotter but serials not read):
2 x Bell 407 at 10:34
3 x UH60 at 10:49
2 x CH47 at 10:54
1 x Bell 407 at 11:26
then a display by the Al Fursan Team (UAE) with MB339
then a flyby from C17 plus unspecified fast jets at 11:28

Over at nearby Al Bateen (AZI) were the following visitors amongst the civil which are most likely IDEX related:

Today (Monday 20th Feb) I managed to see the display for IDEX. It took place between 1300-1400 and the following were noted in the various flybys:

UAE Army:
2x AH64 - 078 confirmed plus 0(6)4 which was extremely difficult to identify, not 100% sure on that one
1x Bell 407 - unidentified
1x Chinook - 2512
2X UH60 - 2658, 2670

UAE Navy:
1x Puma - 121
1x Dauphin - 2125

UAE Air Force
4x F16 - 3028, 3031, 3057, 3078
4x Mirage 2000 - 725, 737, 747, 766
1x C17 1230
7x MB339 Al Fursan, serials unidentified

Additional mil visitors at AZI today were:

KAF327 C130 Kuwait
1631 C130 Saudi Arabia

Log from Tuesday 21st Feb:

Basically the same display format and most of the aircraft remained the same with only a handful of changes:

The C17 was 1224 rather than 1230

F16s - 3022 had replaced 3031, the other 3 remained as 3028, 3078 and 3057

Mirage 2000s - all 4 the same

UH60s - both the same
Bell 407 and Chinook - unable to identify them today
AH64 - 078 was the same but the problem one was replaced by 058. After studying the photos from 20th again I'm fairly convinced that the problem one was 074 rather than 064 (shame - dont need 074!)

Navy Puma and Dauphin were the same as yesterday (121 and 2125)

Mil visitors at AZI today included the following:

4802/SU-BLA Be1900 Egyptian AF
A9C-BDF 146 Bahrain

Weds 22nd Feb predictably saw the same format as before

I went for a new spot which allowed me to identify the Bell 407 but at the cost of being able to confirm the remaining Army helis. There was another change in one of the F16s, the C17 was back to the original one and I was only able to identify 3 of the 4 Mirage 2000s this time.

Confirmed serials from the Weds are:

1x Bell 407 - 2882
2x AH64, 2x UH60 and 1x Chinook all unconfirmed

Navy Dauphin and Puma were the same as before, 2125 and 121. The Dauphin demonstrated landing on a UAE Navy ship.

Visitors at AZI have slowed to a trickle now, just short morning visits from the following US Army which sadly I missed:
