Just try to find another airshow with 2 Typhoon demo's, 2 Gripen demo's, 2 Hornet demo's, 2 Mig 29 demo's, 1 Rafale demo, and Ramex Delta....

Complaining is easy, but most issues were known beforehand, as Hornet69 has said. I had an enjoyable day out, with a nice airshow, and after 1300 even with nice weather. And for the walking distance.... walking is healthy.

Don't think it is about complaining, just about trying to give information so that others can benefit from it (and as a long, long, longshot hoping this information gets out to event organizers and they can learn from it). There is no harm in sharing your experience and/or opinion. I felt better prepared having monitored this thread before I went.

And, yes, you get to write down your frustrations which helps too :)

The rules of feedback state that one should highlight both the positive things as well as thinks that could be improved. What I read here is a lot of nagging. Yes the safety rules were very annoying but given the current situation in Belgium I think it was understandable that the rules were tightened and it was very courageous that they didn't cancel the event altogether as happened to other events in Belgium recently.

In regard to the issue of not selling tickets today; you should understand that not everybody checks the website the evening before the event. It isn't really very friendly to send people away that simply didn't know that no tickets would be sold today. Given the condition of the parking lots after all the rain it is fully understandable that they tried to discourage people to come to Florennes and this was a way to achieve this.

Really a very nice show with some very nice participants if you ask me! :respect:

Just my two cents.

Regards, Paul

I agree with Paul, that's why I gave a factual rather than emotional view on what happened. I had a good time, except for the rain, but even then I had a nice chat with the Red Devils PAO in their tent (dry!).

Had a great days yesterday in Florennes. Entering the base went very smouthly but it was a long walk. We went back to the car park around 16:00 and once there we entered te car park which, in the meantime, was renamend to: "Drama-and-mud car park " . After 4 hours (!!) in de mud with our car we where pulled out by a tractor. At 23:15 we where back home in Eindhoven. Nice.......

But we stayed posotive while waiting and :respect: to the man in the tractors. Working hard to get everybody asap on the road again!

1. I arrived Saturday with two small bags, one carrying one camera with a zoom and the other one my picnic and a camera with a smaller bag. I entered through the gate formerly used during the TLP as the parkings were either flooded or full. We were requested to abandon our cars in the forest and walk to the base (one hour). After waiting one hour in the queue, I reached the camera control line and after removing the cap of the lenses to show the lenses, I was immediately allowed to enter. I asked to the security guard, if photobags were allowed regardless their size. The answer was positive.
On another forum, the question had already been asked and a positive reply given.

2. Sunday, I arrived earlier at approximately 915 am. The parking were still closed. following the signposts, I drove from the south side anti-clockwise around the base and reached Blue 2 at approximately 914 am.
Approximately 45 minutes walk to the AWACS. Security controls were carried professionally without delays (10 minutes waiting time)

Remark:

When going back in the afternoon to the parking which I reached just before the heavy rainfall, I noted that close to the shed (20 or 40 years of F-16 operations), I noted that there is a pedestrian by-pass giving access to the static avoiding the hairpin.

Hoping to be helpful.

Mvg
