Scramble 344 wil be out in a couple of days

Post by jurgen »

We hope you all had a great start in 2008 and wish you lots of happiness and good fortune in good health.

Due to the holidays and a small technical problem at the printer the magazine was delayed a couple of days. It should be delivered in the Netherlands on Saturday 12 January 2008.

Once again 160 pages for your reading pleasure. Al sections are present and accounted for, and seven varied articles.

In this month's edition we have special features about:

-AIRFIELD GUIDE VARESE VENEGONO.
The Aermacchi factory is located here. This airfield guide shows you the spots where the interesting aircraft (like Nigerian MB339s under maintenance and new built SF260s) can be seen from.

-CLASSICS BY GRAVY TRAIN.
A tripreport through Texas and a couple of days around Detroit to visit the Commemorative Air Show, propliners and a bit of military action. Great stories accompanied by great pictures of lots of bigger and smaller airfields in the told areas.

-EQUATORIAL GUINEA.
One of the smaller air forces in the world. But you can wake us up any time of the day to see stunning pictures of Mi-24 Hinds or Su-25 Frogfoot. Together with the complete Order of Battle and all the registrations.

-GREECE 2007.
Tripreport around the annual open days of the Greek Air Force. Lots of numbers, pictures and tips. This report was, among others, compiled by Dimitri Schmidt. He was a former member of the Scramble editorial team and suddenly passed away mid December. He will be sorely missed.

-NORWAY.
Our overview of all the active military assets of the Norwegian Air Force.

-OPERASI ALPHA.
Everything you ever wanted to know about A-4 Skyhawk operations in Indonesia. All the serial tie-ups and story on how these nimble fighters arrived into Indonesia.

-US NAVY NKC-135As.
Only a couple of NKC-135As served the US Navy. This article tells the complete story on their missions.

Do not forget to download the Military Updates at
http://www.scramble.nl/members/index.html Forty pages with info on seventy-four (!!!!!) countries. (Will be available for download on Saturday 12 January 2008)
