Scramble 338 will be out in a couple of days

Post by jurgen »

Another month has gone by so another 160 pages of Scramble will hit the doormat real soon.

First a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has visited our booth at the Volkel airshow. It is always nice to put a name to a face. In this hobby we tend to know each other ‘from face’ for years but do not know the name. During the Leeuwarden airshow in 2008 we will try to change this a little bit by creating a place to talk and exchange stories in/near our booth.

In this month's edition we have special features about:

-DEPLOYMENTS TO GEILENKIRCHEN.
During the year two USAF Air National Guard tankers are temporarily based at Geilenkirchen (Germany). This has been going on for years now. Two editors visited the base for a day and will tell you the story behind these deployments.

-LIGHTROOM.
No, Scramble is not starting its own nightclub… Lightroom is a new program and has instantly become very popular among the serious aviation photographers. In this article we will tell you how the program works and what advantages it has to offer for you.

-SIS AIR SHOW OVERVIEWS.
This section is popular as we have seen several people at Volkel carry copies of this section or our Airfield Guides (http://www.scramble.nl/airports/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). In this edition reviews of Fairford, Kleine Brogel and Kecskemet. How to get their, where to stand, what are the frequencies, what to expect, etc.

-SLOVENIA.
This young air force has celebrated its fifteens birthday this year. Since Slovenia separated from the Former Republic of Yugoslavia it has evolved into a well organized country. On 1 January 207 they have entered the European Union. Their Air Force is well organized and during a two day stay on both bases we learned all about the current situation and the plans for the future.
