The CH-47C+ have not been noted for some time and seem to have been withdrawn. Ten more CH-47Fs are on order since October 2019.
Finally the structure of the aviation assets what we used to refer to as the UAE Army and or Special Operations Command has become a bit more clear. Apparently, the UAE Land Forces Command, a separate command from the UAE AD&DF and UAE Navy, has no aviation assets (anymore). Instead a new separate tri-service rotary force has been formed in 2012 named Joint Aviation Command or in short JAC. It is the controlling command for virtually all UAE “dark grey and green” helicopter including some fixed wing assets. Crews and helicopters do not carry individual Group badges and the Navy helicopters still carry UAE Navy titles. If you have any additional information please drop an update.
