Genel Kurmay Başkanlığı Özel Hava Alayı

Ankara/Etimesgut

Etimesgut-based Özel Hava Alay Komutanlığı operates a number of CH-47F Chinook helicopters that sport a dark livery, making them very suitable for night operations.

Turkish MOD

Özel Hava Alayı operates around eight S-70A Black Hawk helicopters. Some of them were initially destined for Jandarma service but were redirected to the Special Forces instead. In 2023, the first locally produced equivalent, the TAI (Türk Havacılık Uzay Sanayii AŞ) T-70, was delivered to the unit.

The Türk Özel Kuvvetler Komutanlığı (Turkish Special Forces Command) reports directly to the Silahlı Kuvvetleri Genelkurmay Başkanlığı (Turkish Armed Forces General Staff).

The CN235 tactical transport aircraft used by Özel Hava Alay are maintained and operated by the Turkish Air Force.

The Yarasa (Bat) badge on the tail clearly depicts its user. The Casa/TAI CN235-100M are mainly used for parachute insertions of special forces troops.
