Zilzal-II

On 8 January 2024, the Qatari-Pakistani aerial combat exercise Zilzal-II commenced. For the first time, this pitches the Chengdu J-10C of the Pakistan Fiza'ya (Pakistan Air Force) against the Qatari Emiri Air Force's (QEAF) Eurofighter Typhoon.

The first instalment of this exercise took place in 2020. During that exercise it was CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunders against the Mirage 2000s and Alpha Jets.

The exercise is hosted by - and takes place in - Qatar. Interestingly, the officially released photo shown was taken at Doha instead of Tamin, the Eurofighter's home base, or Al Udaid which is the main QEAF base.
