Portugal FAP Falcon 900 CS DTP credit Paulo Brito 640Unexpected new arrival for the Portuguese Air Force

The Força Aerea Portuguesa (FAP, Portuguese Air Force) recently obtained a new bizjet in a very unusual manner. On 23 February 2023 Falcon 900B CS-DTP (135) formerly owned by OMNI Aviation, was flown from Cascais in the south of Portugal to Lisbon where it eventually will join the VIP fleet of Esq504.

The jet had sat at Cascais airport since 10 July 2021. Four days later employees of the airport found an unknown quantity of drugs hidden inside the aircraft.

Unfortunately for the operator of the Falcon a similar incident with the same plane took place just five months earlier, on 9 February 2021, when almost 600 kg of cocaine was found hidden behind a panel during an unscheduled maintenance inspection at Salvador International Airport in Brazil. This inspection took place after the jet suffered from a technical problem during the approach to the airport whilst en route to Portugal. OMNI Aviation regularly flies between Brazil and Portugal carrying footballers.

It is not yet known what the new serial will be but it will never be as fitting as its previous identity CS-DTP (Drugs Transport Plane).
