On 25 October 2021, at around 10:30 hrs local time, the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) KDC-10 T-235 departed Eindhoven air base for the last time.

The tanker has been sold to Omega Air Services where the aircraft, together with former KLu KDC-10 T-264, will see a new life as the company’s first boom-equipped tankers.

On her last operational flight, the KDC-10 takes 322 Squadron personnel to Edwards AFB (CA). The Lightning II squadron deploys eight F-35As including personnel and material to the out-of-area location for a period of three to four weeks. According to the information, the unit will gain Initial Operational Capability (IOC) during this deployment.

The F-35As left Leeuwarden air base around 11:00 hrs on Monday 25 October.
