Sweden Tp84s leaving CBG video trailspotter 640Returning home

On 3 July 2022, the two former Flygvapnet (Swedish Air Force) Tp84 Hercules transport aircraft that were stored for many years with Marshall at Cambridge (UK), left on low loaders to be transported back to Sweden.

The Tp84s, serial 84001 (c/n 382-4039) and 84003 (c/n 382-4628), arrived at Cambridge on 9 June 2014 respectively 18 November 2014. The latter one arrived on a flight from Brize Norton with a technical issue, but due to the fact this aircraft was planned to be withdrawn from use at the end of 2018 it stayed at Cambridge and was retired immediately.

Tp84 84001 (FMS 64-0546) was originally leased to the Swedish Air Force in February 1965. In September 1965 it was bought by the air force. It is the only Swedish Hercules with an FMS serial.

As can be seen on the video, only the fusleages of the aircraft were transported. The wings, tails and other parts left Cambridge a couple of weeks before.

According to the information, 84001 will be preserved at the Flygvapenmuseum at Linköping/Malmen and 84003 will go its former homebase at Såtenäs, where it will be used as a load trainer or will become a gate guard. Future will tell ...
