On 20 December 2022, the Elliniki Polemiki Aeroporia (HAF, Hellenic Air Force) will officially withdraw the Cessna T-41D Mescalero.

The retirement ceremony of the basic training aircraft will take place at the 360th Mira Archikis Ekpedefsis (MEA, Primary (Flight) Training Squadron) of the Hellenic Air Force Academy, at Dekelia Tatoi air base. At this ceremony, static and flying aircraft can be expected.

The event is open to the public and the programme information can be found here. Further information on this event can be requested by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

All aircraft were acquired under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract. One was delivered in 1970, the other were delivered in 1969.

According to the Scramble Military Database, the HAF still operates some nine T-41Ds at Tatoi out of a total of 21 that were delivered, although five of them have not been seen over the past three years.

Since June 2019, the Tecnam P2002JF started replacing the ageing T-41D Mescalero with 360 MEA.
