Four more Bell 407s for Polish Police

On 17 February 2023, the Lotnictwo Policja (LP, Police Aviation) signed a contract with Bell Textron Inc. for the purchase of four additional Bell 407GXi modern light multi-role patrol and observation helicopters.

The contract, valued at USD 36 million (PLN 159,5 million), was signed during a ceremony at the headquarters of the Polish Police at Warsaw-Babice airport. The helicopters will be purchased as part of the project “Safer on the roads – air traffic supervision” and will be stationed throughout the country.

With the new contract, the fleet of Bell 407s with the Polish Police Aviation will increase to seven. Delivery is expected at the end of 2023. The first Bell 407 was delivered in December 2019 followed by the other two in September 2020.

The Police Aviation operates at this moment fourteen helicopters: two Mi-8s, three W-3s, two Bell 206s, one Bell 412, three S-70Is and three three Bell 407s. Two Bell 407s are based at Warsaw-Babice and one is based at Poznan. Another two S-70I Black Hawk helicopters have been ordered in December 2022 with delivery at the end of 2024.
