Delivery QEAF Hawks

The first two BAE Systems Hawk Mk167s for the Joint RAF & Qatar Emiri Air Force Hawk training squadron have been delivered to RAF Leeming on 1 September 2021.

The gloss black painted aircraft with white RAF serials, ZB131 (QA01) and ZB133 (QA03), on the nose and the top of the fin departed with call signs SCARAB1 and SCARAB2 a little past noon. They did carry the Qatar roundels and fin flash on the tail, but no Qatar serials. 

Both Hawks will be used to stand up the joint Qatari-United Kingdom Hawk training squadron at RAF Leeming in September 2021. The squadron will be equipped with nine Hawk Mk167 training aircraft currently on order by Qatar.
