First Portuguese KC-390 in its test phase

The first Embraer KC-390 Millennium transport aircraft for the Força Aerea Portuguesa (FAP, Portuguese Air Force) has entered its test phase. Currently, the activities are carried out at the Embraer facility in Gavião Peixoto, in the São Paulo State, and they are focused on flight tests that meet the specific requirements of the Portuguese.

The transporter is currently flying with the national insignia painted out but with full Força Aerea Portuguesa-titles and carries the Brazilian test registration PT-ZDK. The aircraft is the first of an order of five aircraft, which was placed in August 2019. Scramble Magazine reported earlier on this topic on 27 September 2021.

It is expected that when the KC-390 has surpassed all its tests it can be delivered to its new owner sometime in 2023. The first Portuguese KC-390 will then be registered as 26901.

There is also a nice YouTube movie to watch.
