In addition to our news item of 11 March 2021 regarding the test flying of two Afghan Air Force (AAF) A-29B Super Tucanos at Rota (Spain), we can add that the six aircraft departed Rota to Palma de Mallorca on their first leg of a long delivery flight to Afghanistan on 18 March 2021.

They were accompanied by Do328-110 D-CSNC (msn 3015) operated by 328 Support Services that arrived at Rota on 12 March 2021.

As mentioned, the first stop was at Palma de Mallorca, where they stayed for three days. On Sunday 21 March the A-29Bs departed for Comiso Airport "Pio La Torre" at the isle of Sicily (Italy). Details on the next stops are not known yet.

One of the A-29Bs showed, although vague, its future Afghan serial.

The six Super Tucanos are:

13-2001 (c/n 31400201), to become YA1401 (see photo)
13-2002 (c/n 31400202), to become YA1402

According to our information, two Afghan Air Force A-29Bs should still be at Moody AFB (GA) with the 81st Fighter Squadron. These are 13-2019 and 13-2020, although both have not been seen anymore since September respectively November 2018.
