Crash Peruvian Army Mi-171

On 17 April 2021 at around 09:15 hrs LT, the Ejército del Peru (EP, Peruvian Army) lost one of its Mi-171Sh-P, serial EP-685 (construction number 171S00604137459U).

The helicopter crashed during a drug enforcement patrol mission in Ucayali department. The cause of the accident seems to be a technical malfunction during flight, that resulted in the crash of helicopter in the Vilcanota river. Sadly, five of the twelve on board were killed, two went missing and five others were injured.

The EP received three Mi-171Sh and 24 Mi-171Sh-Ps, despite the harsh operational circumstances this is only the second loss. Please visit the Scramble Magazine Air Order of Battle for the Peruvian Army.
