Crash EBV Mi-17V-5

On 22 February 2022, the Ejército Nacional Bolivariano de Venezuela (EBV, Venezuelan Army Aviation) lost Mi-17V-5 Panare serial 00764 at Barquisimeto.

The helicopter burst into flames after it hit the ground. Unfortunately, two passengers deceased while two crew members were taken to hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash is unclear.

The EBV operates the Mi-17V-5 with 711 Batallón de Helicópteros at San Felipe/Subteniente Nestor Arias. This unit also operates a detachment at Caracas - La Carlota/Generalisimo Francisco de Miranda AB.
