Cornwall museum news!

According to the BBC, the future of the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Museum seems secured!

The museum had to close its doors in October when the Cornwall Council did not renew its lease. And as at that time no suitable alternative grounds were available, the collection was facing the axe man. Scramble reported earlier on the possible closure on 2 September 2022.

But the museum board now believes its aircraft could be saved as a landowner has offered them a suitable site nearby.

The exact location is still kept secret but is close enough to the current museum site to transport the twenty intact aircraft in the collection to the new grounds without dismantling them. This obviously saves an enormous amount of money.

But now time can become a threatening factor as the museum has to vacate its current hangar at Cornwall Airport Newquay before March 2023. The museum board and volunteers desperately hope that the airport authorities will extend the timespan for the move of the museum collection!
