Bundeswehr contract for Belgian NHV

The Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) has awarded a contract to Belgian helicopter company Noordzee Helicopters Vlaanderen (NHV) based at Ostend.

The contract implies the provision and maintenance of three H145s in support of the Luftwaffe (GAF, German Air Force) Special Forces’ training programme at Laupheim (Germany). The one-year contract is foreseen to start in January 2021.

In partnership with Milestone Aviation, NHV will provide one Airbus H145D2 (OO-NST) and two examples of the new five-bladed H145D3s.

With this contract win, NHV is the first non-German company providing this kind of service to the German Armed Forces. The company will open a base and line maintenance station, and locate a dedicated team at Laupheim air base in Baden-Württemberg, creating a close cooperation with the Bundeswehr team. NHV’s brand new MRO facilities in Ostend will also act in support of the German MRO activities.
